Motor Vehicle Enforcement

The Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division (MVED) of the Utah State Tax Commission licenses and regulates automobile dealerships, salespeople, crushers, transporters, dismantlers and body shops. It investigates motor vehicle fraud and other crimes, such as auto theft, chop shops, odometer fraud and salvage vehicle fraud.

Extended Hours. Extended Service. Beginning Monday, August 4, 2008, the MVED office will be extending their hours of operation from 7:00am to 6:00pm Monday through Thursday, and closing on Fridays. This is in conjuction with Governor Huntsman's "Working 4 Utah" initiative. Also remember that many of our services are available online.
